Class Feature/Description

Introductory Session - For first timers, please reserve a spot for your one-time introductory session at roll@jt6studio.ca. Confirmation is needed for reservation. Loaner gi uniform is provided. We will need height and weight to prepare your uniform in advance, This one-time session is all about knowing the class structure, warm-ups and safety in jiu-jitsu.

Intro to BJJ Class/Course - For beginners with no experience looking to tryout the martial art in a smooth, safe start and slower-paced setting. The class focuses on basic positions, techniques and movements (no sparring). Great base to jump start with to lead you to join the other classes. Open to all new beginners with no experience. Basics Class - This class focuses on the basic techniques, movements, and positions of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It gives you a solid foundation that you can later build on with more advanced techniques. Geared towards beginners. Basic class is for white belts only.

Fundamentals/Advanced ClassThis class focuses on the fundamentals/advanced techniques and will be faster paced with more complex techniques. Roll with higher level training partners and get exposed to some of the more advanced positions. Fundamentals/Advanced class is open for all colored belts (At least white belt two stripes and up).

Competition Class -This class focuses on sport jiu-jitsu uses the rule sets of upcoming competitions (e.g. International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation, submission only events, etc.). As different competitions come up we will switch between GI and NO GI. Competition class is open for all colored belts (At least white belt two stripes and up).

Open Mats/Rolls - No techniques are taught at this class. Warm-up followed by free rolling/sparring rounds. Open to all levels and ranks.

Community Open Mats/Rolls - Open to the local jiu-jitsu community for free for open rolls/drilling during scheduled holidays. Great way to meet and train with people from other teams. Donations are accepted. Find blue cash box at the studio.

 Type of Class Training

Gi: Students in this class train are wearing a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi / kimono. This allows for the practice of various holds and submissions. Warm-up followed by drills and techniques. Specific training and free rolling (sparring) takes place at the end of class.

No Gi: Training with shorts / athletic pants and a rash guard / t-shirt. Warm-up followed by drills and techniques. Specific training and free rolling (sparring) takes place at the end of class. Suitable for all skill levels. (No buttons or zippers exposed on No Gi apparel for safety).
